Under pressure from Nollaig this is the first thread I've ever started. Basically it is to cover any live event people may have gone to be it music, comedy, theatre etc. Can't imagine it'll be a top thread but hopefully it might gain some traction so we can all inform each other of good stuff going on or at least compare views on things we might have gone to. I'll kick off by listing the last three things I've been to:
1. The Secrets of Primrose Square- Adaptation of a novel by Claudia Carroll. Wasn't expecting much from this and only went to bring one of the teenage daughters. Really really intense and well acted and I shed a few tears tbh. She thought it was fantastic as well. 9/10.
2. The Weir - Rated as one of the best plays of all time but I'll be honest while I enjoyed it couldn't say it was great. Maybe if I was from a rural background it may have resonated more. 7/10.
3. A Christmas Carol - On every year in Nano Nagle. I booked this off the cuff with no idea what to expect and brought all the kids. Turns out it's basically a one man show with a singer blasting out carols galore in between the narration. Threw me at the start but got totally sucked into it so would highly recommend for next year. Kids would need to be 11+ though imo. Yer man playing Scrooge totally blew me away. 9/10.
