Last night I d/loaded and watch an episode of: "How the Universe Works", about colliding neutron stars. It's a very "American" series with overly dramatic music and equally overly dramatic scientists giving their opinion but, I like the science. 6/10.

On TG4, Fiorsceal is excellent TV. Some of those docs are so informative and, some, really obscure, but still very informative. It amazes me that a "small" station like TG4 can show such quality work and our expensive RTE can show such shyte. I have to admit that in the middle of the RTE dross are some quality shows. "Tracks and Trails" comes to mind.

evolution of hip hop. 8 (4ep x 2series) part doc on shitflix.

6/10

first three episodes were great charting the rise of hip hop in new york. last part just rushed the west coast scene.

next four episodes just rushed through the south, the bay area,90s and new york again.

they kind of set it up to go for a third series but if they’re going to rush through some crucial areas then i see no point.

i’d say a lot of the lads who influenced stuff along the way either declined interviews because of the defiant ones* or were just overlooked for budgetary reasons.

the defiant ones
shitflix doc on dr.dre and jimmy iovine
8/10

great stuff altogether. some class stories and interviews along the way. probably suffered in the way a lot of docs do about people/causes/stories that are ongoing insofar as there was no definitive ending to it.

The devil we know - about Teflon , c8, pfoa etc, 8/10

Three identical strangers - unbelievable true story about triplets being adopted , 9/10, astonishing turn half way through
