Whatever about Davis (who Tuped away from RFC once they went out of business and refused sign for Sevco, going instead on a free to Southampton) getting the gig as interim manager, they'd better get in someone with a track record of winning things in management or the hun support won't be happy. That would cost money, and of course, they've spent millions this summer on Micky Beal scouted "talent", who apart from Buckland have been duds so far.

Some talk about getting a Director Of Football to oversee a new manager, and even Greame Souness is being mentioned as DOF.

New manager in is going to have to try get a tune out of Beal's flops and that won't be straightforward. They'll still be likely favourites for the League Cup, where they're getting a bigger fan ticket allocation than Hearts at Hampden.

Interesting times ahead but 7 points behind in the league after just 7 games and probably an easier start than Celtic means they've an uphill battle to try win the league.

Many of their fans are critical of Tavernier (just last year inducted into their Hall of Fame) and Goldson in defence, never mind the misfiring new signings up front. Lucky for them they've signed what looks like a good goalkeeper.

Linked with Tindall who is currently number 2 at Newcastle. Another gamble I think. He's primarily been a Number 2 I think and his only previous experiences at Number 1 ended in failure afaik.

"In 2007, Tindall was appointed as Player-manger of Weymouth, but was sacked a year later after a 2007–08 season record of only three wins.

After his exit from Weymouth, Tindall was appointed as assistant manager to Jimmy Quinn at Bournemouth in 2008.

Following Quinn's departure from the club, Eddie Howe was promoted to Caretake Manager, before becoming the permanent manager with Tindall as his assistant.

In 2020, Howe left the club by mutual consent and Tindall took over as manager on a temporary basis.

One week after Howe's departure, Tindall was appointed as manager of Bournemouth on a permanent basis, following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

However, the former footballer was sacked in 2021 after performances 'fell well below expectations.

Doesn't exactly look like a world-beater.

Tindall is best known for shaking hands with opposition managers before Howe gets to, seems to be a cult figure at newcastle,
