Used to head there on a Sunday afternoon for a few in front of the fire (early 90's). 'Twas like being in your front room. Yer one behind the counter was savage and used let us pick the music as well. Happy days.
Wasn't in there for a while and when we went back it was all blown out with really strong lighting. Just turned around & walked out, gutted.

That rings a bell. Not 100% certain cos memory is shot. There was loads of memorabilia on the walls, number plates etc. Think a picture of Bob Dylan as well.

Just catching up. Yeah, the fire is still there right against the back (south) wall and twas blazing away on Sunday afternoon. Happy days in there when it was John Phelan's next door to The Shelbourne two smaller pubs.

Was that Victor - 50ish I'd guess. Seemed a very decent sort when I knew him, though maybe I'm mixing up the Marina and The Port Bar?
