Remember a pub across the road from where Russell's bookstore is/was as a kid in Olly Plunkett St and tractors outside it
That's the one, looked very private like a gentleman's club for farmersThe only one I can think of was on the other corner of OPS and Marlboro Street (south) - I think it was the Plough and The Stars, shortened to The Plough. If memory serves (it would have closed in the 1970s I think) it was more of a club. The door wasn't open but punters (mainly from the Mall as I recall) would let themselves in by key during the afternoon.
A bit like The Grocers albeit not up a very long stairs.
