It started when the Chawkes thought the two gentlemen were staring and sniggering about them (at the other end of the bar): Paranoia. She seemed to be more vicious than the brother. A year in prison is light enough and 5k seems a small settlement.
And I'd have to disagree with Chawke running good establishments. Lounge and bar staff in The Bank repeatedly asking you if you want another drink when you are only half way through the one in front of you is aggressive salesmanship, unbecoming of a good public house.

I wasn't referring to "a" law but, probably clumsily from a legal viewpoint, to the administration of justice. Chawke has got away with it. We might agree that the prison system is, as the saying goes, "unfit for purpose".

Yes because they are different systems. The judge set the sentence, the prison authorities decide who gets TR

Correct. We have posters on here who regularly complain that prisoners are living in too much luxury.

It's bizarre that you'd try to claim the criminal justice and legal system in Ireland has absolutely nothing to do with our Prison Service.
