We are in The Auld Triangle a couple of months back - lovely grub and a good pint. Granvilles is lovely but as you say can be a bit expensive

Went on a pub crawl in Macroom about 10 years ago - it was, erm, different.

I find it a very strange town. It's not very nice and there's an odd vibe about it.

The Auld Triangle looks good but it's a fair bit of out town. As is Coolcower, which apparently does €5 pints every Friday.

I'd go back to Synnots but that's the best of a bad bunch

The place we ended up in is by the square, same side as the hotel, but closer to Cork. It has a laneway up the side of it - can’t remember the name. A couple of beauts in the clientele but it was clean and had a bit of atmosphere.

Could be - twas a good few years ago so I’m afraid I don’t remember and I’m very seldom passing through Macroom any more.

Yeah ended up on a night out there maybe 20 years ago.

Had to walk about three miles into the dump the following morning to get my car. Not been back since

Nothing remotely 'weird' about it. You put all this info on the board. Its literally in the terms and conditions you sign upto not to post personal info.


Youd have saved yourself a lot of hassle if you learnt to not spill every bit of the goings on in your life on here.

Thats not a dig but as good a piece of advice as I ever got was 'dont be telling people your business'.

The best pub in Macroom used be Goldens, original snug etc. Sadly long closed.
