Nice - I was there really briefly years ago. I was in Slovenia last year for a few days, the beer and wine would be similar price and quality.. very nice indeed. The Slovakian Alps are spectacular if you get a chance

The High Tatras. Slovakia is a nice place, but Bratislava is a day trip from Vienna and that's enough.

Vienna is unreal for day trips to other countries - Sopron in Hungary is an hour away, and Bratislava is about the same.

It'll be nice to get home though and into The Fountain.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire had to have some benefit. Fairly comprehensive rail-networking I believe.

Hope they win their case and something is done to improve access from that car park across to the pub - even a zebra crossing. Cars zip along there at a stupid speed imho

It's not private enterprise duty to pay for public road infrastructure. Simple as!

Exactly. After the council making it a condition for approval and now they're potentially not going to get planning approved. If this does happen they should recoup the cost from the council

Totally agree about the stupid speed. I'm surprised Tony didn't put in a Zebra crossing or lights back in 2022 (even though stipulated according to that article) as it was very much in his own interest to do so. And they could put in a proper surface in the car park. The Cross family are great business people, so this is a surprise to me.

JDs in Youghal is closing down. That's a great spot and will be a big loss.

It's a blow especially after Moby Dicks closing last year. There are always rumours of a few other places closing down too. JDs was rumoured for ages but the owners always denied
