Pubs reopening June 29th

What annoyed me was that it came down to me looking for the rugby, and this wealthy couple that yer man knows from Blackrock looking for the hurling. And he sided with them, despite me sitting in there since 5pm and being a fairly loyal regular.

And like there were other Munster jerseys in there come 7pm, but everything was changed to suit these two.

Only a small thing I know but it was very frustrating.

Did you say it to the bar staff? Im sure there’s enough screens to put the rugby on one of them ?

If it was my bar the hurling would have been on, critical stuff for the Munster championship. Yes, the rugby also matttered for Munster next season and Connaught by extension, but its minority stuff in comparison. Hurling is the main event
X2 id be well disappointed if they weren't showing the hurling. Wouldn't think they'd be much interest in a limerick rugby team.

Did I what. I'm after getting a free bar tab out of it as consolation.

They usually have a matrix box that allows different screens to show different matches, but because GAA+ is a streaming job they couldn't split the screens today.

I stormed out and went to a nearby pub, which didn't have the game.

So like an absolute GOBSHITE I had to go back to the first pub and wait til the hurling was over and they could switch over to the rugby.

Tipp vs Clare ffs. A non event. Was it a 13 point difference at the end? Rubbish. I'd have happily watched Offaly before that, they're my team this season. Limerick thrash Clare who then thrash Tipp. Cork beat both of them. Give us the Stan Maguire now.

Interesting, “the Sam Maguire”.

This is a pub I never think of going to. I didn't even know it was still going.

I've been in twice I think and really liked it. I remember watching Leicester vs Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in there with two of my good mates. Happy times.

Not the most inviting looking pub from the outside tbf.

Used go in there quite a bit back in the day, used be some great music in there but when it all got redeveloped it was never the same again. Been in a couple of times in the new premises but alas it's a bit soul-less by comparisson to yesteryear. Much harder to fill the space. Must go back in again

Was chatting to Tom in the South County there. He's in there for another week before handing over the keys.

It must be such a major headmelt to give up your family business. But it's the right thing for him and his family and reports are the sale price was closer to €2 million, which is great.

I'm definitely getting in for dinner in the next week. It'll never be the same again without Tom and Maeve

😪
