Pubs reopening June 29th

Ollie who had the Shire (Lord of the Rings themed pub) in Killarney passed away suddenly a few days ago. He also worked in the Bailey in Cork for a long time.

Young man with a wife and two young kids. 😔

The Shire is a lovely pub. That's always the first stop for brunch and a few pints when I'm in Killarney.
A lovely guy. You couldn't meet a sounder fella. May he RIP.

He had a lot of businesses on the go seemingly.

One of my friends has a pub right by the parade route and he says it's quieter than a normal Tuesday. Usually it'd be absolutely rocking from the minute doors open on Paddy's Day.

Anyone know how other pubs are doing today?

Work and school tomorrow a big factor

Massive factor for me too, but I always enjoy going out for a few afternoon pints on Paddy's Day.

But like the Gables didn't even bother opening this year, I think he's opening at 5 and by that stage everyone has gone home.

After years working in an Irish pub when Paddy's was a massive deal, I find this kind of sad. I'm going to head to the Hyde Out in a bit, surely there's a crowd over there.
