Sean was in the paper last year saying he wasn't sure if both businesses would still be around in a year. That wouldn't exaxtly inspire you with confidence as a buyer

It's a shame as he's a truly lovely guy, and Paul in Paddy's has to be one of the best bar managers in Ireland. If the place goes, he'll be snapped up straight away.

I know that a prominent publican was willing to back him to buy Nanas before it came the Hyde Out, but Paddy's came in with a really good offer for him that he couldn't refuse. A serious operator.

Paddy the Farmers and Tequila Jack's up for sale.

Both very busy spots, I'd say Paddy's will attract attention due to the nine apartments overhead. Not sure I'd want to invest in a business on that boardwalk where Tequilas is though, given the types that hang around there

I think last year was a record for Ireland in terms of overall hotel occupancy rates, if anything there are not enough of them, and certainly not enough to create any competition in the industry.

I was thinking with the new ish one by Morrisons island, the soon to be built one in the old leisureplex, and now this new one again on Oliver junkie at.. Ohhh, and the one down the mall..

The apartments would be a lot more valuable than the pub. I could see someone buy the lot and try and convert the pub into accommodation.

I'd put them in different tiers, where there is no competition between tiers.

Silversprings (assuming you meant the Clayton on the boardwalk)? Residence Inn?

Also - I just looked up photos of the Ashley Hotel and every Premier Inn that I have stayed in has been of a better standard than that.

There's a hotel in the airport too, dunno what chain that is though.

The airport hotel is Triagon, who also have the Metropole.

It depends where you draw the line. Vienna Woods? Fota?

Either way there are a fair chunk of decent hotels in Cork City and the immediate surroundings.

They made a bollox of things with that Rezz hotel. A refugee hotel in the middle of one of our most important tourism and nightlife streets, ffs.
