Pubs reopening June 29th

Yeah had a similar experience over Christmas. I paid for a round of 3 pints in cash and got some shock when I saw my change. I'd normally pay with the phone and I possibly wouldn't pay attention to the price

I'm like yourself, I don't go for pints very often nowadays so it doesn't impact me as much others.
Publicans love people paying by phone or card, I was in a pub over xmas, This girl got a tray of drinks, Tapped with her phone and
off she went, She didnt even look at the amount on the machine.

You just reminded me.. 2 years ago a well known pub on Barrack Street charged me for a bottle of wine instead of a glass, I never even looked when i was tapping but spotted it a few days later. I rang and they explained that they had checked and I was correct, it was a simple enough slip up.. hmm. Anyway they told me to come in and they'd arrange a refund but I was gone back to Dub at that stage and completely forgot until now. Their slip up worked out well for them!

Gouging at it's finest.

They keep upping the prices because they know people will pay it.

Disgusting behaviour.

I fuckin love pints.

I’d have 3 or 4 most evenings after work and a decent pour then on a friday or a sunday night.

An extra €3-€5 a week won’t make much of a difference.

No interest in drinking at home then cos my housemates (wife and kids) are a shite buzz.

I saw a picture on Instagram there, the Old Oak have a big Venezuela flag up behind the bar.

They're some lads for jumping on a cause
I seen that old Nordie one, what's her name again? McAldrick or something. She's 78. Anyway there was actual Venezuelans in Dublin thanking Trump for saving them, and she was heckling them. Saying they're cursed and all this shite and that she hopes they live long enough to see the error of their ways. Crazy women

Diageo said it was increasing the cost of a pint of Guinness by seven cent. However, when VAT is added to that and the publicans’ margins are factored in, the price for consumers is likely to climb by 20 cent.

In correspondence sent to publicans, Diageo said the price increase would take effect from February 2nd and blamed “industry wide cost pressures”.
