Pubs reopening June 29th

You'd be worried if the likes of Sean are concerned about the future. Paddy's is absolutley flying it, so if they're in trouble then God knows what it's like for other places.

I hate reading this as the general manager is a friend of mine with a new baby on the way. Last thing he needs is the owner telling a newspaper that he's not sure if they'll be open in a year from now.

I'm more surprised by the news that Tequila Jack's is still open.

We went in there on Valentines Day for dinner and it was 10/10 tbf. Gorgeous food and top service despite how busy it was. Dunno why I haven't been back since, as I did really like it. It reminded me of being in the US. Maybe that's why I haven't been back.

I went there twice around the time it opened - first visit was mediocre chalked it up to teething problems, second chance was absolutely abysmal.

That's a shame to hear. I do want them to do well as I'd know a few of the staff through Paddys, and Sean is a lovely guy.

Last Paddy's Day myself and Frau MoE went to Paddy's. Twas jointed and Sean was sitting at a table with his family. When he saw us at the bar he jumped up and told the bar staff that our drinks were on the house. He'd never even met herself before, I thought it was a very nice gesture

Benny is there any chance you could push Maynes in Dublin for the FAI Cup final?

I'm in a Dublin based Cork City fan group and they're trying to decide on a pub to base themselves in on the day. It'd be great to have the Cork pub as a venue for Cork fans, given how close it is to the Aviva
Soccer in Donnybrook? The locals would have to relocate to their summer homes in Brittas for the day, and the City fans would spend the day whinging about a pint costing €17.50, and no fosters on tap

Lansdowne Hotel on Pembroke Road was always a good spot beforehand as they'd get the outside bars and BBQ going so no bother getting pints or food, and only around the corner from the stadium

You should have done what Boycie did in the nags head when the Driscoll bros said they wanted to buy everybody a drink, One of the Driscolls put a pound
on the counter and said he expected change, Boycie said il have a double cognac Michael,

Yeah on reflection I've actually done the Landsdowne for the last few City games, they'd have the placed well decked out and Red FM would be out front broadcasting.

Dublin is a kip but Dublin 4 being full of Cork people is always a special occasion
