Pubs reopening June 29th

A verbose account of how the pandemic wrecked the hospitality industry.
I'm not too sure why things need to be delivered. Guys riding on scooters from miles away. If it was a local fella on foot or on a bike making sure your food came hot I'd throw him or her or them the two euro I have in my pocket. Ultimately, though, food, which is essential, needs to be close to mouths and bellies.

Feeding people is a vocation. Hopefully we've all grown up with food being set on the table by someone who cares for us. It's an absolute must.

Food related I heard on the radio a TD is looking for supermarkets to publish accounts and put an end to clubcard offers and simply give better prices due to the inexplicable rise of grocery costs.

Supermarket Food has been cheap here for 25 years. It’s a huge shock to people to see prices on the shelvesinflating so rapidly combined with some shrinkflation.
It would be very worthwhile if the Government would commission an urgent review and transparent report on this whole thing.

So he (I doubt it's a she as them she's are tricksie) wants equality and no-one in on the secret to a red pepper that lasts.

Can't fathom it either why some people would wait an hour for cold or soggy food when they could nip down to the outlet to order and pick up the meal. There's a place in D15 that delivers coffee by drone. It flies its produce over the same gardens all the time and has residents driven demented with the near constant noise. It's totally alien to me to buy food/beverage that way but I can't see that coffee being warm or cheap.

I'd say people are shagged tired from all the work they're doing.

Working for the down and outs, the losers, the scumbags and faggots, the cheap lousy maggots. The people we don't want to see when we're going about our day. Of course some would just like to sit in their thrones and not have to deal with these people. Fair play to those people. Not a bother in the world to them.

The idea that these platforms hold the customer data so essentially the vendor is flying blind and paying 35% of the price is very disturbing ,
I only get deliveries from out firs thatvrdeli ee themselves ,eh Chinese and Indian then ,

The ideal is being able to walk to your local chipper, but failing that some fella on a moped was the traditional way things would be delivered. An actual employee who got paid a wage and might get a quid or two from a grateful customer. Deliveroo and the likes are horrific, ripping everyone off while changing how we view society and our neighbours. Thankfully I can walk to some takeaways, not that I do it too often, but if you're gonna get it delivered then a small catchment area for a restaurant that can be managed by someone on a moped or ebike would be ideal. And it'd mean people are supporting businesses within your vicinity. Like I said, your neighbours.

And what I don't know, given Deliveroo and the likes huge cut, is why a few takeaways that might be close together don't pool their resources and hire one lad, lady or enby to do a few of the businesses? You'd often have a few takeaways next to each other. Surely combined they could manage minimum wage for someone over the weekend when orders would be high.
