Pubs reopening June 29th

Cantys and The Russell Inn were more middle of the day “lunch” trade - anything from 12-3 type trade for the suits from The Mall. Or The Plough for the key holders of the 70s and 80s

After work on Fridays in the 1980s and 90s Cantys used to be full of Mall suits. I know because I was one of them!

Great to see the locals pubs full of Celtic fans ahead of the big game.

That's the second Tuesday in a row now where town has been full of people on a sunny afternoon before a big event. Fantastic to see

I assume this is related to Clancys closing.

A non story really. Pub closes while the owner of said pub expands on one of his other pubs.

I'm technically part of that South Mall crowd now and I don't feel comfortable going for a pint after work in a full suit.

I don't mind it in Dublin or London where everyone is wearing a suit, but I just feel like a wanker walking around Cork in one. I think its because everyone knows everyone, and if someone is strutting adound in a suit it's almost like them trying to say they're better than you.

Maybe it's just all in my head, but I get changed at home before I'd ever go for a pint after work
