Eugene’s is a great bar, with decent staff, probably the cleanest toilets in Cork, and a clientele full of characters.

The Old Reliable is well named. Consistently a very good pint of porter, particularly Murphy’s. Barman who’s been working there for decades and clientele that keep returning for a premium product and experience.

The Homer is decent too, thankfully they sorted the jacks a few years back

I was a regular in there in the 1990s and been back a number of times since. Decent pizzas. Even did the official tour recently at a work do - including their nonsense that a tunnel went from the old Franciscan Monastry up to Gurrawn. They do a passable stout but I’d a “Heineken Head” the morning after.
Place is choc-full of poseurs though. Wannabes drinking crap-beer!
