Managed to get my hands on some Kilkenny in Le Château. Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Makes me want to give a visit back to Kilkenny. Haven’t been there since the late nineties, back when I used go to the Kilkenny SHC finals, and I do say majestic games they were.

Kilkenny ale is awful slop imo.

I wouldn’t put it on par with a proper dry stout but I’d have to have it in higher regard than a lager. A creamer of a cream ale if there ever was one, real nectar.

The proper creamy Kilkenny is lovely stuff.

The shite they sell as Kilkenny abroad is absolutely dreadful.

The foreigners mop it up though. In my bar in Munich we used well more Kilkenny than Guinness.
