Pubs reopening June 29th

Just after being in a well known pub that I will not name and can’t say I’m anything but utterly disappointed. Asked the young lad behind the bar where their ‘craft’ stout was brewed and got the usual "can’t tell you where it's brewed" reply which means it's almost definitely brewed at a massive contract brewery in continental Europe that brews the same beer for loads of pubs/bars etc, letting them rename or brand it as they like. Its the same for any pub that has an own brand beer on but doesn't have a brewery on site or isn't explicitly linked to/owned by a brewery. l've met a lot of brewers & been to a lot of breweries and they are not secretive about how they make their beer, if anything you can't shut them up talking about it.
The use of the word craft is used to hide a load of things but provenance most of all,
huge swing to local beers nationally in view of the amount of beer miles that are put up in getting your “craft “ or foreign imports to the consumer ,
At least in cork whether big or small breweries ,your beer have only a few km to travel .i still think one more city brewery would be perfect .

He’s sound

That thing he's cultivated up in Dublin looks very impressive. I must actually get into the Palace or somewhere next week and try the beer.

It could do with a bit more publicity though if its going to work, in my opinion. It exploded a few weeks ago and has completely fallen off the radar already. I did a Google search earlier for "Dublin craft beer" and didn't see it anywhere. Instead I was getting recommendations for places like the Brewdock, which is a complete kip.

Another blow to the nighttime economy. On one hand we're talking about encouraging people to stay out later, and on the other hand we're making it even more expensive for them to get home.

And that's if you can even find one of these miserable, moany cunts to pick you up.
