Protein!

Protein is a naturally occurring ingredient in certain food. Proper diet is just as useful.

Sigh yes but not everyone likes eating 5 eggs a day and too much red meat is really bad for you... Protein shakes are a time effective way of not having to do so. A normal diet will not help you heal, you need more protein than normal to speed an injury recovery...

Postinjury your body breaks down more protein than it can make, causing the injured muscle to atrophy. Not eating enough protein can make matters worse.

You are right, natural protein is best but very time consuming to prepare compared to 30 secs of a shake.

that's a fair point but even that article is saying that all you need is 60 to 90 grams of protein per day. It's extremely easy to get that amount of protein through ypur regular diet.
consider ypur average chicken breast/fish etc has 25-30 grams, an egg has 6/7grams. If you're eating a protein source with each meal, it's quite easy.
1 to 2g per kg bodyweight per day is a better guideline. On the lesser end if you're less active, and vice versa.

Again, if your diet is in order, they're really is no need to supplement unless it's purely for convenience.

Speeding injury recovery, ya, very sensible.

Natural is the only way, if you don't want future side effects.

But sure, let the narcissistic dopes cary on with their gayshakes.
