Protecting the Integrity of Fair competition in Womens Sport

look they can try and make out that they have been hard done by but theres two gold medals and three world championships there won by unfair advantage. end of story.

I think listening to athletes like lynsey sharp you can really appreciate what an injustice occurred

Yeah, this is the race I directly referred to a few posts ago. it's really sad.

Same can be said for Worku Getachew's steeple silver, Maria Mutila's six golds, Fiordeloza Cofil's world mixed relay Gold. Christine Mboma's Olympic silver

There are absolutely loads of examples.

What do people make of this? The one that's gotten the most attention is Parkrun, which I had thought was non-competitive? If so (and I'm open to correction on that) it would be v odd to threaten them with a lawsuit.

Davies’ Women’s Sports Union, alongside the conservative advocacy group ADF International, has now issued letters to 10 organisations. They contend that these bodies are in breach of the law and are failing to adequately protect women and girls by permitting male-born competitors to participate in their events.
I hope the 10 organisations tell her to shove her letter up her hole.

Ultimately it's this bunch of neanderthals that are driving the hate. Davies is just their fellow traveller in the UK.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), formerly the Alliance Defense Fund, is an American 501(c)3 nonprofit conservative Christian legal advocacy group. It works to expand Christian religious practices within public schools and in government, and is most known for its stance on outlawing abortion, opposing same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights, transgender rights, and anti-discrimination laws.

I think Davies is basically correct when it comes to competitive sport. Not sure if lawsuits are the right way to go, but maybe these organisations are being v stubborn. But imo non-competitive events are different.

I don't fancy the ADF either from what little I know of them. It does happen that someone can agree with a organisation they otherwise find odious on one or two specific topics. I would be wary of working with them in that case, as seems to be happening here.

It's lawfare - the strategic use of legal action to intimidate someone: "We don't like what you're doing, so submit to our demands or we'll sue you"

Religious fundamentalists have no business dictating to any organisation how to run their affairs. They're just exporting their shitty yank identity politics to Europe.

Parkrun is a non-competitive (and inclusive) body, so these ADF fuckers can't claim they're protecting the purity of sport of running by harassing them.
