Nickie Quaid has been the best and most consistent 'keeper for the past 6 years but this year on it's own Patrick Collins is surely the best in championship. Collins made a few huge double saves and more than any other 'keeper showing he was fastest off his line, his puckouts were excellent. Quaid gave Peter Duggan a handy goal v Clare by scooping the sliotar into his hand instead of pulling first time. Collins is also the most improved in a very short time.

Of course all stars are picked on this year but both Collins and Quaid have been exceptional for the most part

Collins and Quilligan have both been excellent for large parts of the championship but Quaid has been the best keeper this year by every metric saves, puck outs and generally distribution.

I'm delighted for Collins this year as he's answered a lot of questions although having some lads up the pitch that have finally gotten better at winning ball has helped his cause.

Quaid is a great keeper but why the big clamour for him this year. Don’t remember him doing anything special, good save vs Barrett in first game. Seems to me like one of these things where the media are saying he was great so everyone is just parroting them. Collins was far better than him in the semi final and he actually played in the final and made a serious save from Kelly.
