Pre Celtic Tiger Ireland

How much of that stays in Ireland though stackY? I'm not saying we don't do well from FDI, but a lot of 'our' exports are really American exports
So what?

Our indigenous food + agricultural sector is also doing very well and we are at full employment with huge shortages of labour in many areas.

Our corporation tax is going through the roof currently and is it even sustainable-we will see.

We have an extra €1.6 billion already this year + Vat and PAYE etc.

So Ireland's GDP figures aren't distorted?

Good to know. How did the year of 25% GDP growth go in 2015? Everyone remebers the enormous boom of 2015, right? Some year.

Lads are super sensitive about the Irish economy(what about cheese!). It is wonderful and remarkable that the Irish economy has made a complete u turn of the last three decades. However, if you do not factor foreign companies avoiding tax and the input of EU development funds you are only kidding yourself.

Again over 130 countries in the O.E.C.D. have agreed a minimum global corporation tax rate (15%) from 2023.

If multi-nationals were only in Europe for low tax they would be in Bulgaria etc.

Ireland is now a net contributor to E.U. development funds for poorer regions.
