theres an episode of the simpsons wherein the family is watching tv and there is a poet of sorts on the tv reciting what is meant to be a humourous poem/verse; the audience appreciate it but homer is apalled thinking the humour non existent.

name that poet/entertainer/guy.

i can give you no further information on the episode other than that it was in animated form and featured characters as diverse as homer j simpson, marge simpson and the simpson offspring.
