Places that won't reopen

This place was actually savage. Pity

never knew they did pizza, always thought it was a tea/coffee shop

instead of a big red 'Frankie's' sign they should have had a big red 'pizza' sign

It was a cut above anywhere else in town for slices. Made Fast Als taste like absolute shit.

Same owners as Palmento in Douglas, which hopefully is trading well
I know those lads well, Palmento is flying it apparently Frankie’s had an atrocious Christmas trade which probably made the lads pull the plug.

I’d say it’s more of a summer gig and maybe the winter wonderland that was on grand parade the last few years would see them through the winter.

What was the craic there actually it wasn’t there at all this year, I thought it gave the city a bit of life

Last time I went there was a Friday when I had a really good day in work, the sun was shining and I said Id treat mysekf to a slice and sat out on the boardwalk. I'd say they were forever getting hassle with junkies though.

It's both a brilliant and an awful location. There used be a place there called Yellow Sub, I was riding one of the girls there while working in a nearby pub. Very happy times.

Palmento is very good but I just prefer that deep pan NYC style pizza. That's a big loss to Cork.

While working in the pub did she ever ask you to "put a head on that"?
