Petrol/Diesel prices

I topped up yesterday despite being over half full. My regular spot Texaco on the Model Farm Road was 1.99PL Diesel. I thought you might not see it below €2 in many places for a while.

There is a report this morning saying home heating oil here has risen 8 times higher than the european average,
How the fcuk can that happen or be allowed to happen?
The same report stated Europeans predominantly use some form of diesel for home heating. I'm going to assume that's true.

Is the the 8 times higher like for like with other European countries who use kerosene or this form of diesel?

The government should have nipped this in the bud despite MM coming out with his statement, prices have been inflated.

Again I'd ask what would be the reason for the supply of products coming from Whitegate to suddenly jump up 75% plus?

As the thick would say, its all De Government’s fault.
The technical fact is that the domestic heating Oil used on the continent has mostly diesel in it, the domestic heating Oil here and in the UK is mostly made up of Kerosene.

Facts are a bollox of course when " tis all de governments fault ".

These are the latest figures (including taxes) taken from https://energy.ec.europa.eu/data-and-analysis/weekly-oil-bulletin_en

Obviously the real life numbers will be higher today.
