Pastrami versus spiced beef

Cork Spiced beef is a type of corned beef - its rubbed with sugar and spices, left to cure for some days, then boiled. Traditionally its served at Christmas, rather than day to day (when you would serve corned beef, which, without the spices, is cheaper). Pastrami is also spiced, but it is smoked, not boiled.
