Oul wans who'd "GET IT "

Just looked that up there. Nice story, I had no idea. His birth mother contacted him in around 2008.

My aunt up in Meath is adopted and managed to track down her birth parents, and they didn't want to meet her
Jesus.

Thats harsh.

Was she ok about it ? Hard to see how she would not feel rejected .

I had a buddy whose father walked out on him as a baby and never got in touch until yer man was in his 40’s. He re-married and started a new family seemingly.
The father essentially was now terminally ill and wanted to make amends and reached out.

My buddy declined to meet with him and asked him not to contact him again.

I thought it was a little harsh myself not to at least meet him and hear what the father had to say but then again it’s not my situation.

What would he need to know that he doesn’t already . The father chose to walk out , such is life . Choosing not to make contact with your own kid is a different level altogether . Fair play to him for not meeting up , only one to gain from that is the father

Yeah. I see your point alright.

That’s my take too. The father seemed to only have done it to seek forgiveness in his death bed which only placed a burden on the lad he let down years ago.

Why should his death be kept or carried by a lad who didn’t have him in his life? It was in essence a last example of exerting control.
