Was it a chipper before it was a Chinese takeaway? They used to make egg rolls as a starter there when it was a Chinese in the '80/'90s that were incredible.

Kinda like a spring roll but the filling was wrapped in a plain omelette and then in a super-light batter. I've never seen them anywhere since.
