I can remember going and some bits of the film but I can't recall the interior of the auditorium at all.

Anyone have any photos from the 80s of the gaff? There's loads of B/W ones from way back in the 1950s or whatever.

As an aside - what was Otokio?
It hasn't really changed. Just imagine tiered seating from the high point behind the bar down to the front of the dancefloor and a cinema screen on the stage.

Its definitely Turners Cross anyway
Good part of the world
I spent my first 4 years on the South Douglas rd
Rose Cottage
We’d the top hall of the house
The other family had the bottom
Both families moved into uam var ave in 63 as close neighbours
Had the way things work out my dad/ mam were offered a council house in Ballyephane around the same time but fair fucks to my uncle Johnny in Blackrock as a single man he gave my old man tbe few hundred pounds as a deposit for the house in Bishopstown and would u beleive it Johnny himself a confirmed singleton and boozer got married himself within 2 years but never asked for or took what my old man raised for him
He’d a good job as skipper on the dredger alongside my other 2 uncles
Afaik General Tom Barry was one of their bosses in the harbour board
And years later they arranged for me to meet the general in Fitzgerald park,
I was awe struck and mumbled something about my Kerry grandfather who was jailed for years in a few jails in London,Belfast,Cork and I think Kildare /inntbe curragh camp for his IRA activities as an officer locally,
He was impressed but I got shy and stopped talking despite my old nan nudging me👍😊
