One way to lessen the Issue with var is to issue a dictat to referees to referee the games properly inside the box .
Most will tolerate the onside / offside decisions but corners and free kicks into the penalty area are now a complete mess because the referees are not penalising players for fouls.
Nearly every corner now starts with the referees warning players for pulling and dragging. Sort it out , start of next season day 1 , free kick out or penalty if in the mind of ref a foul has been committed, do it in every game ,every week until the penny drops with players , else it will just continue ad finetum and more and more var will decide .

Agree. It has gotten massively out of hand and is a blight on the league from a fan/viewer perspective.

PGMOL need to consult with the PL and come out, well before the first game of the seaosn, with a clear strong message on what will not be tolerated.

And they need to follow through on it consistently all-season-long, not like other hobby horses that get lots of attention for the first month and then deteriorate rapidly afterwards.

Probably going to have to limit the number of players that can be in the 6 yard box before the corner is taken too. Zero/One attacker and two defenders I'd go for.
