Depends what your preference is.

Looks like it'll create more high-profile games (and spread them more evenly across the tournament) but perhaps at the expense of reduced jeapardy of a big name exiting early.

No format is perfect but, on balance, this looks to be an improvement (...albeit the football calendar could've very much done without the additional 48 games)

Can't say that I like the new format tbh. It seems complicated and could lead to "confusion" imo.

Not too confusing but just adds in an extra round of games between group stage and last 16 to an already overcrowded fixtures schedule.

Suits the bigger teams with bigger squads as they will now have another chance if they have a poor group stage and finish 3rd. They also have resources to deal with two extra matches.
However, if say Aston Villa do well and finish second in their group, they are faced with two playoff fixtures that they previously wouldn't have had to play, putting pressure on their squad and their chances of getting top four spot again in domestic league.

I think you've totally misunderstood it tbphwy

It's one big league. The "finishing 3rd in your group" concept doesn't exist.

malmö were very bad in the first leg at home and deserved to be dumped out. europa league is about their level.
