Official NHL (Ice Hockey) Thread

So the 2018/19 season got underway last night with the reigning champions the Washington Capitals hammering my team the Boston Bruins 7-0.
Hoping for a strong response from the Bruins tonight when they take on the Buffalo Sabres.

Highlight of the game from a Bruins perspective was Brad Marchand taking his frustration out on one of the Capitals players for taunting the Bruins bench after scoring their 7th goal.

Bruins bounced back well from that opening night mauling to record a 4-0 win over the Sabres and a 6-3 win over the Senators (which included a hatty for Bergeron). 2-1-0 for the Bruins so far.

Other notable results include the New York Rangers loosing their first 3 games including an 8-5 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

My Bruins are very much hit and miss so far. Seriously need to bring in at least one if not two scoring threats. We just can't seem to find the back of the net. Current record of 7-4-2 which has us third in our division behind Tampa Bay and Toronto.

Four home games coming up over the next week now, need to get as many points from those as possible to stay in a good position.

Toronto Maple Leafs are so far looking like living up to the hype that was thrust upon them pre-season. Nashville Predators are currently leading the entire league with a record of 11-3-0 giving them 22 points.

Great performance from the Bruins last night beating the Maple Leafs 5-1. The Bruins were destroyed defensively on Thursday night by the Canucks 8-5 so I was very worried the much hyped and on song Leafs might put up a big score but the Bruins killed them especially in the 2nd and third periods. Playing the second of a home back to back against Vegas tonight. A win and suddenly we are looking in pretty good shape again.

Boston Bruins V Montreal Canadiens live on Eir Sport 2 now for anyone looking for some top notch late night sport entertainment.

First round of the playoffs currently underway. Tampa Bay and the Penguins have already been shown the exit door. My Bruins are currently tied 2 games apiece with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Game 5 is on tonight and is about to start on Eir sport 2. Huge game.
