I notice the Bulgarian, Moldovan, Hungarian etc etc teams in the Europa and Conference competitions are fielding teams almost exclusively packed with Africans. Eastern European teams in name only. Sheriff had one white player when they played Man U. Shamrock Rovers came up against the same. I don’t know what the deal is. The African talent may be better than what they can procure locally or it could be the business model for these clubs to develop these players and hit gold when they sell a couple of the better players on. A bit of both may be. I remember hearing at a FORAS meeting, and this was years ago, that CCFC get as many as 40 different approaches (email, fax etc) from agents for African players a week.
