Official Cork City FC/LOI thread!

Perfect time for an experienced manager to try his hand a 3atb, wing backs, passing out, tiki-taka, total football, jogo bonito game.
Honestly as long as he gets us up
Has a brain
Isn’t letting himself get bulled by Dermot,
I wouldn’t care if he put out 11 donkeys from the sanctuary,
This last few years have fecked me ,
Worrying, stress, disappointment, yo yo

Weren’t many Friday nights that I wasn’t like a demented weasel over our inability to play because of our small inexperienced side

I’ll never forget the sight of children on our bench last season in Derry,
It all kicked in then how seriously inept we were .
Not the teams fault- but the Briw beaten manager no 3 and Dermots interference.
Honestly I was and am still seething,
We travel to most away games harps etc last time down,
But the writing was on the wall in Tallaght for me when Waterford bate us,
I believed everything Dermot promised/
Twice - once when as a member of FORAS I voted for him,
Secondly- after Tallaght I took in all he promises🙄

Being genuine about this and not talking about jogo bonito like we're Brasil I think his first few years he's been getting the commercial stuff in place, as well as some of the community stuff. Look at the kit cabin out in Bishopstown. The work with the blind team, elderly team, and intellectual disabilities team. The camps ran last summer and recently out in Musgrave Park's new indoor facilities over the Christmas break. I think there's also been a few young women really given opportunities to take some training and decent football on board. You only have to look at the squad rotation in the women's league to see there's a project there.

I might be very naive but I think he went in with a plan that pretty much wrote off the first few years to get some structures in place. Especially the financial structures. If they don't get promoted that's in ruins, I'd imagine they will be though. If they stay up in the premier league next year we'll see real movement and the money seriously coming in for the men's first team with all the levels and systems beneath sorted out.

There's a reason a lot of fellas were on short term contracts last year, and the loanees. They wanted to be ready for anything and were predicting a bit of a roundabout. The money at the top end of the league means if you're an owner pumping cash in with no solid income you're never, ever going to be able to keep up with the teams with European money. That's multiple millions in a season for a few games off-season. Thankfully, we're in Cork, so we're the second city in Ireland, and also the real capital, so we'll be flying in a few years.

Sincerely hope so,
Yes some positives,
Too many negatives,
I know him to chat to,
He’s a v nice man but think he was kinda innocent coming into LOI,
Fingers crossed
