Official Cork City FC/LOI thread!

i wouldn't mind so much if they were actually interesting to read but last time i saw one it was all corporate advertising and snooze-inducing pen-pictures, etc
I used love getting them years ago particularly for the big matches like finals but these days they are complete shite.

Brown Thomas Christmas ads, fuck off

See Damien Delaney on the Indo Sport podcast today? He spoke a bit about his relationship with Usher.

Usher hasn't a clue by the sounds of it
How could he? He never owned a club or had any involvement in football before. He appointed a manager who never managed before, and never will again. His team selections and substitutions are mind -boggling, and alienated players. But having appointed him, Usher won't fire him. His record would have got him sacked three times at any other club.

They'll be hoping Seanie, Keating and even Kelleher get some offers will they?

Usher surely won't bankroll their wages in Div 1 for a full season?

I listened to the podcast with Damien Delaney. Reading between the lines Usher unsurprisingly is learning as he goes on the football side of things and football admin which is very unique to be fair.

I agree with Delaney that they had a decent squad in attacking areas and even Daniels was a great emergency signing when the two strikers got injured.

They just never got everyone fit and on the pitch together. The defence was left in a bad state to start the season though. Anderson as a inexperienced kid and Coleman were never going to do the job.

What happened with Couto? Before he got injured he looked the best attacking left back in the league and Nash didn't give him a look in when fit?

The biggest issue facing the club though is the constant failure to tie down the best academy players to contracts.....it's costing the club a lot of money. The talent that comes out of the club should be bankrolling the future. A massive ongoing failure.

Usher should never have been left within 200 miles of the place. The longer he stays the harder it will be for whoever comes after him to rebuild the club.

As someone joked recently Plonk is comfortably mid-table and pushing for Europe when it comes to worst Cork City Chairmen. It's easy to see who has the relegation spots also.

Would Tommy No Bobs be considering a second stint? Douglas Shopping Centre as shirt sponsor? TNB is building some giant gaff on the Blackrock Road at the moment. Might upgrade his title to Tommy Has Bobs
