No Parking = No City

Lets just park the smart Alec responses for a bit. Whatever about cutting parking in the immediate city centre. ( theyve fucked up the South Mall, no amount of you saying otherwise will change that imo), reduced parking on Wellington Road , Victoria Road is simply bad planning.

Theres no reason to eliminating disk parking within an acceptable walk of the city centre. (Making out our public transport isnt pathetic is laughable tbh m8. )

Looking at Eamon Ryan's transport plan for Cork. Each step of his plan involves the removal of parking along all routes for yet more cycle lanes.

Its grand for him when he can hop on a Luas or Dart but to be removing even more parking access to the city and outskirts is just more anti motorist policy.

You complain about the lack of Public Transport, yet want to retain parking in the city?
You are funny, aren't you!

At the end of the day, there is no inherent right to park your private car on public land. There is far too much space given over to parking in the city. Anyone without an agenda can see it.

We need to bring back the Gondolas..........

People want a safe pollution free city centre without the pollution, noise and disturbance of cars (Fans of cars, parking, noise, pollution and traffic can head to Douglas Village where they are well catered for)

You can store your private car somewhere privately and the days of 24/7 city centre car storage in the city centre on public streets went out with the Spice Girls.

Go to the nearest shop, hope that it is open and sells discs, walk back to your car while hoping for the best, punch a few holes in a piece of paper with a pen and wind up your window to keep it in position, head back a few hours later to do it again is like something from Soviet Russia.

You can do it via your phone now.

You are fake news.

Sad.

That is not my point though as you well know as I am outlining the archaic nature of the system back in the day driving around trying to find a space and then a shop.

You can drive into car parks now in Cork and there are no tickets and you pay via an app all ready and waiting for car storage fans.
