No Parking = No City

Previous Green Fundamentalism hoodwinked the whole world into promoting Diesel Vehicles.
Now we are encouraged to use Electric Vehicles in the new reality of Power Shortages. We are encouraged to cluster closely together in Public Transport, in the new reality of Pandemics.

Quay Coop Restaurant Upstairs Closed. 30% ground floor shop turned into a S/H book store. Iyer's is gone. Wild Design Shop gone.
Paul Street S.C. has been sold and will be re-developed and it is actually attached to a giant multi-storey focking car park.

Quay Co-Op is not closing down and Iyers never even mentioned car parking in their decision. Ignore all the new businesses opening up in your zero-sum game of out dated ideas.

Have you heard of Dublin?

The figures, released by the group Dublin Town, has shown that footfall in the city increased 10.2% compared to the same time last week.
It's an even bigger increase of 16.4% when compared to the same time last year as Dublin was just set to enter level 3 lockdown at that time.
Most interestingly, streets that have seen an increase in pedestrianisation have seen the largest increase in footfall.
Both Capel Street and South William Street have seen a 19.4% and 20.6% rise in footfall.

Cork's outdoor dining and pedestrianisation experiment to continue

First introduced as a lifeline in 2020 for hospitality businesses struggling with covid, pedestrian-friendly environments will expand.

“As chairs and tables were coming off trucks on Princes Street that first day three years ago, people just sat down. There was a huge response to it, and it’s developed to become nearly iconic in Cork,” said publican Paul Montgomery.
Now almost three years since a web of city centre streets were claimed back for pedestrians and outdoor diners, he is one of countless business owners who have reaped the rewards of the ‘reimagining’ of Cork city.

Nah. Don't bother venturing into the city anymore. I assume it's still rammed with shitty vape/phone shops and sports stores? Maybe they can open a nice big vape store where Argos or GameStop left?

Follow the European norms and our European Over Lords.
Our Councillors and TD's afraid to vote it down.
The City Councillors themselves can see it daily but afraid of the Green Party and can't comment on the non-reliable public transport and the imaginary Luas that's never gonna happen.
The City Hall does not admit defeat cause they're too stubborn to admit their wrong.

Taking away spaces for huge ugly footpaths, that in turn don't serve their purpose as the forum suggest no parking no city.

And god forbid Accessible/Disabled Parking miles away from everything. They moved them all for the bike lanes and footpaths and people are suffering as result as for example anyone with Cardiovascular such as COPD cannot physically walk from the spaces on South Mall to Patrick's street because Panna is closed 3:30 - 6:30 daily another failed initiative.
Wheelchair users if don't have van with ramp trying to exit passenger seats on the roadside of South Mall with Cars, buses and trucks flying up the road.

Welcome to democracy in Cork City and county Council and the peole enjoying the streets and the businesses paying rates and trading are happy.

The city is full of disabled car parking spaces that have to be provided for compliance as required and rightly so.

Wheelchair users, the elderly and families with buggies etc prefer car free streets with level paving rather than dodging traffic and cars trying to park and store their car there all day and tiny narrow footpaths.

Your car driving and car storage is your own problem.
