Yes the cop who said "I don't think you have been" in response to Nowak saying he'd been stabbed is being a dick, and I would totally take as valid that they were too fast to handcuff him, but neither action fundamentally contibuted to Nowak's death.

Maybe there's other details that's not part of the initial reports that I've overlooked, but this looks very much like right wing using a tragic incident as part of their political campaign.

If you look at the bodycam footage, you can see that while one police officer says "I don't think you have mate" when he says he's been stabbed, they do check for stab wounds, carry out some basic checks and call an ambulance. Think they did a decent job, they weren't complete pricks about it, I can see how they might think he's actually drunk or on drugs rather than dying.

It's in no way at all comparable to the George Floyd case, even though the chap does say "I can't breathe". It's not like they're cutting off his airways or anything.

I suspect Twitter will discuss nothing else in UK politics for the next few months.

The top copper was on earlier saying this should never have happened. Imagine the final moments of this young man as he must have thought he was saved with the police arriving only to be dismissed and cuffed. Its scarcely believable.
