Sure your rent could easily be $5000 , $3100 for daycare for one child, you could be clearing $11k per month and still struggling to feed and clothe yourself.

If you've got a rent controlled apartment, you're on the pigs back honestly, but it's really difficult to make your way there.

I think technically she could, but it'd be political suicide, she'd get rinsed in the next election as the bulk of her voters will be NYC dems, and she would lose the entirety of the progressive vote.

Mamdami is the golden boy and rising star of the Democratic Party, she'd be a fool to start a fight with him. The future for the Democrats is to take heed from Mamdami's win and drive on with fiscal liberalism and wealth redistribution.

The modern Democratic party has fucked itself in recent years, too aligned with corporate interests while trying to be culturally liberal, they've totally isolated themselves from working and middle class voters. They're basically the pre-Trump Republican party but woke. If they can steer away from the woke shite and stay on message about taxing the wealthy and making things more affordable for average Americans, they'll eat Trumps lunch.
