My future fund

if they dispense with the Pension how are retired people who never contributed to a pension fund - they never had to - going to survive?

I think it was a good step by the government to introduce it but there'll have to be accomodation made for workers who are only just starting to pay a pension now at long last.

They won’t dispense of the pension for these people. They’ll means test it for the rest.

Anyone with a decent private pension will get a reduced state pension or no state pension depending on the size of their pot.

Agree with that. Hitting you and the employer for PRSI while trying to screw you out of what you get back.

What say the PROC? I think it is a good initiative, I know people in their 30s might not be too keen as they see retirement as 35 years or more away
but i feel it is important to plan for that day, Living on the state pension is not sustainable,
Employee puts in 1.5% Employer matches it, Government add .5%, Yes it will certainly put extra pressure on some employers,
I thought this was going to be a new upcoming hedge fund where you could get millions in return for a few grand entry fee.

You need to DM Greedy m8.

What’s the difference between an old man and a retired gentleman?

A good pension.

It’s NEVER to early to start a pension.
