Must.... Own....property....

I visited the grandmother's house yesterday out of nostalgia.

It sold for €1.4m around two years ago, and was in beautiful condition with perfect gardens.

Yesterday I couldn't believe what I saw. It looks like a derelict house. Completely overgrown, rubbish thrown in the driveway, what looked to be a broken window upstairs.

The buyer was a Chinese cash buyer. Clearly bought it as an afterthought and has fuck all interest in it. Very sad to see.

5 apartments according to my lough dwelling buddy

he's Irish but spiritually like one of the Polish lads who drink cans and try to "catch" carp not a swan

Seems mad

Speeding* past those lads set up out that way the other day - I noticed that several of them are flying the Irish tri-colour on their tents.

Have we steeped so low?

That bottom-feeders care about the nationality of who is fishing by the Lough...?

And the carp too?

*At a slow pace.

We know nothing of the Geopolitics involved in the lough carp fishing scene.

I'm in favour if a two state solution myself. let those swan botherers take the side with the Spanish slackline kids and their fuckin hacky sacks

Leave us the homeless calisthenics gym

it'll be like our own Venice beach in 20 years or so

One thing is for sure - if the opposite camps start mingling, we'll have a hash-powered Voltron on our hands.

Anyone who thinks the house above needs to be gutted should go away and have a lie down for themselves, it will sell for up to 450k and the notion that the purchaser will then go away and spend another 300k getting up the BER rating to A is living on another planet.

I wouldn't even get the house drylined, you could get the eternal insulation in time for sure but it's not something you'd need to do straight away.
Putting a single solar panel on the roof (for the cost of a couple of hundred euro) has the ability to bring your BER rating from E levels up to D levels.
It is absurd but it is done.
The mere presence of the panel and its ability to operate (if at all needed) is all that counts. It doesn’t even have to be connected to an inverter or anything.

Property rights are way too strong in this country.

I would be in favour of minimum standards with the ability to carry out repairs or upkeep as required and with the costs levied by revenue as part of LPT.

How's that for a right wing daily mail reading taxi driver old man yells at clouds take..I'll be bitching about cycle lanes yet
