Music system for kids

I want to figure out a way to allow my kids to play music by themselves.

Back when I was their age I had a tape deck/CD player, but they don't have any physical music.

They don't have internet access and I intend to keep it that way, so spotify/youtube won't work.

An old fashioned ipod would probably work, but I don't think they make them anymore.

Any ideas folks?

You can get cheap assed MP3 players and speakers still. You'd still need to download music files.

Use an old phone, remove the sim..
You download the music to the phone and afterwards disable the WiFi on the phone.

Per title,

I would like to try and spark a bit of interest in listening to music, long ago you'd give a kid a CD player or a tape deck or an IPod.

I'm not mad about headphones he's too young to be brooding into those nor am I keen on Vinyl because hes a bit young (maybe next year)

I play guitar with him regularly enough and he's starting to show some preferences

But does anyone have experience in DAPs or the like, everything else seem to be spotify players and I'm also not keen on just giving him open season to all recorded music in human history

So what do you cool kids do?

I had a see through Pioneer discern with the anti skip software at one point a bit ahead of the curve- I thought I was the absolute shit, it was a class yoke and I used it into submission. I had a system going for the rechargeable batteries to keep it spinning!
