Here's a question, who is the biggest celebrity that has been in one of your pubs?
I saw Didi Hamann in the Crane one night, and met the Darkness in Maynes.
I'd say you can do better than that though?
We never comment unless they comment ,Sting was a great character ,got up and sang Sean nos ,
Will Ferrell and his old fella were brilliant craic one lazy Sunday ,
The cork attitude is great ,sound people do not approach and wankers are too bitter to approach so you get a lot of people coming here for that reason ,
I remember years ago in the sin e at the height of mushroom season 1999 or so I was trying to wake this fella up on the counter while filling a pint for Robert Plant and his old doll ,yer man stirs -opens one eye and there was plant smiling at him ,he shook his head ,mumbled somthing about shrooms and went back to sleep ,
None of us ever told him the truth.
My observation. Is that the more famous they are the greater ability they have to be able to blend into the background ,
Had a mega mega star in one night just before Covid,he was vibing away to the trad while watching the evening races from Roscommon on the telly ,this guy was cover of time ,the boys minded him and took him in on their table but 4 homes later he was Christy browned I’d say an old spliff down the lane ,great night went on till dawn ,
The following day the actual men in black showed up looking for the cctv so it could be deleted ,I told them to feck off ,teas done earlier ,will never mention the name but I’m on the guts Xmas card list ,
Then Moe there was feeder,we once locked them in the cellar for two hours where they fought like apes ove 3 bottles of out of date ginger ale but that’s for another day
