They hired the entire pub as extras for the warehouse fight scene .when we got there the other half of the extras were a certain breed of a certain culture that we had eh clashed with o er the years ,they robbed the cloak room bare ,but the peace was kept ,
We got paid 70 euros and decided to drink our way back to the city centre with it ,no one would serve us ,I lost my lucky racing hat ,
Great times

I once met and was introduced to Mick Wallace and shook his hand, also saw Joe Higgins out and about. Here's a question, who is the biggest celebrity that has been in one of your pubs?
I saw Didi Hamann in the Crane one night, and met the Darkness in Maynes.
I'd say you can do better than that though?

Thursday nights. Anyone could pop up there and I mean anyone. It was ideal, low key, discreet, eclectic, cultured, punters on the run, great live music, ok pints, no closing, it was a secret celebrity hotspot at the time, on the hitlist if they were on holidays in Europe.
A mate of mine from down there and I used to hit it and my good outrageous nights.
I haven’t been there in years. Not since Paddy and the absolutely gorgeous Eileen’s time. When the question of best pub in Ireland comes up, there are a few places that always get mentioned.
Few of them are as deserving as Connollys. What a genuinely special place.
There's nowhere like it on a warm summers day. Few pints, a pizza, good music, and just the most relaxed atmosphere you can get.
You know, I think you've just given me an idea of what to do for my birthday in August.
We used to go to another pub down that neck of the woods too, pure cream… can’t remember its name though.. and as they were law abiding citizens down the Wild West the rule was that after hours (after 1am) you had to pull your own pint. We were often left there drinking after the owner had gone off up to bed and worked away. Terrible film, but there's certainly a doc or podcast in the waiting on the making of it.Went on the piss with him.patrick begin and vinnie jones in the mutton that time ,
