Minor Footballers 2026

Lovely comments from the tyrone manager, something close to this To say cork is not a football county give them a team and they will follow suit thay must have had over 8k here today. Both Cork and Tyrone IMHO were above average minor teams this year and played the game the way it should be played

Gabriel Oronsaye. Had a huge impact when he came on.
Watching it back on tv for the first time, the leadership Joe Miskella showed was incredible for a young lad.
Cant beat a few leaders on field when things are'nt going your way ,

Gabriel played well when he came
on but showed with his point kicking that he is definitely a defender ..
Thought Captain Lynch had a good game but they all played well against a physically stronger very good Tyrone team .

He was excellent v Kerry too. Think he may have picked up an injury - didn't play at all v Meath or Derry.

Miskella outstanding. Stepped up as captain when most needed.

Gabriel missed Meath and Derry due to a torn hamstring, it wasn't near as bad as Colm O'Riordan's hamstring pull though which kept him out for the entire championship. Keith Ricken said after the game that Gabriel played through the pain barrier when introduced. I believe Gabriel, Colm and Riley O'Donovan would have all started if they were fully fit. I saw Gabriel playing for LC Gaels v Croke Rovers for the 1st time a few years back and although they were defeated Gabriel stood out. He has a younger brother Samuel who is 14 and also a fine footballer.
