Minor Footballers 2026

Could any of this team make an impact for u20's next season or are we realistically looking at 2028 before they start to make an impact?

I'd say there are a few that could make the step up. Dara Sheedy, Darragh Clifford and Gearoid Daly from this year's u20s went straight into u20s from 18, having played minor the previous year.

I'll will say about this minor team that they played a lovely brand of attacking football.

Mixing running and handpassing with some nice kick passing and fielding.

I hope this is nurtured and encouraged in them and not coached out of them!

I think having Ray Keane at u20 will help to continue this. Been a very positive year for Minor and U20s overall. Real sense of finally having turned a corner after 3 or 4 years in the doldrum

I’d expect 3/4 to start. Twohig a cert.

Tom Whooley will be one of the u20s main men next year. Physically well able. He would start for Clon this year if the ridiculous minor restrictions weren’t in place, incredible to think a player this well developed can’t play senior football for another 2 years. Such a stupid rule.

Miskella is another who will start for the u20s, although he will need to strengthen up a little, but a great footballer.

What a mighty win , Sunday reminded me of 2019 in Portlaoise with the 20s All Ireland ....huge Cork crowd shouting REBELS REBELS ......A great lift to all Cork GAA after a few bad weeks
All Ireland Minor Football Champions has a fantastic feeling about it
What a man Keith Ricken is what a record he has..
I hope these brillant young Footballers stick together and if they do they will have more success
Well done to all so proud of ye.

Watched this again & again

That Tyrone are a fine team makes it all the better - What an outstanding bunch of lads

Exactly - won it last year and have won 3 of last 5 at u20 level. Their underage setup is probably best in country at the moment.

To beat Kerry and the Leinster and Ulster champions as well as hammering Derry (winners in 23 and 24) on way to title is some achievement.

As per C1990 above, hopefully this group sticks together and also that they receive the coaching and development they deserve over next few years.
