Generations have so many fond memories of his commentary. I remember when I was a child being packed into the car on a Sunday with my brother and Nan and heading off to Killarney, West Cork etc etc and listening to his commentary on the radio. My Nan wasn’t very mobile at that stage so where ever we’d go she’d stay in the car with a little wireless radio listening to whatever match he was commentating on.
I loved nothing more than after a big win in a Munster Final or in Croke Park getting back to the car to hear Micheál give a synopsis on how greats like Corcoran, Deane, Ó hAilpín inspired Cork to victory.
We’ll never see his like again.
