'Michael Jackson fan' syndrome

He was just misunderstood. I mean if you never really went to school or played with other kids or didnt learn the kind of normal social cues people do you might want to innocently sleep with 7 year olds when you were an adult too.

Im not for an instant defending him. I think he almost certainly molested a bunch of kids and I hope hes burning wherever he is.

Im just saying he was one strange dude.

I've read one book about each, anyway, I don't need lectures on what books to read from some newbie dweeb like you.

A lot of biographies in general are terrible. You need to look at the quality of the writer involved. Agassis book is pretty good but he got a Pulitzer prize winning ghostwriter. William Friedkins memoir is brilliant, one of the Ancelotti books is amazing. You can have a subject who on paper should make for a very interesting read but if its a poor writer you end up with a turkey.

You needed to read a book to find that out?

We knew he was nuts decades ago.

I didnt know much about the Jackson 5 careers trajectory or stuff like his falling out with Paul McCartney. Macca told him he should buy up publishing rights, he had Buddy Holly's. Jacko went out and bought the Beatles back catalogue lol.

He's innocent.
A misunderstood genius.
You need to read the book again, just slower this time.

Lol, I honestly didnt know a whole lot beyond what youd find out on a Google search. I remember Jacksons death being a big deal back in 09.

Did I enjoy the book, not really. It was a slog but Im definitely better informed. Documentaries are mostly shite and always have a huge amount of editorialising.

For instance I remember that Bowling for Columbine documentary painting Charlton Heston in an awful light with gun control and it turned out theyd totally misrepresented the timeline

Ok, they can be hit and miss, I've never read a sports biography so can't comment on that genre, I've read plenty of music bios and there are none I regret picking up.
