Back when the venue used get decent acts. The Manics were properly huge back then.

Saw Shane McGowan and Morrissey there round the same time. Would like to see them play again but Im not taking two days off work.

I didn't know what to expect to be honest. it was unreal

This is my truth tell me yours was just released

it was a sweaty mess, we got pints in the Arcadia before hand

They were in Slane with Robbie Williams and the verve the next night

Yeah used properly love the Manics. Kind of lost interest after Know Your Enemy. Played everything upto that to death.

There was about 4 of us went to see them in Smithfield in Dublin round 2001 , was a great gig. Supported by JJ72 lol Id say Ive seen them maybe another 4 or 5 times at various festivals.

I just cant be arsed travelling to Dublin for gigs anymore. Grand when you dont have childer that need minding.

That was a great gig in the Opera House. The Chicks supported - they were abysmal.

The Manics opened with a rip-roaring version of "Australia". I had seen them a few times before that back as far as "The Holy Bible" tour but they were really up for it that Friday night in the Opera House because they'd just been told that "If you Tolerate This..." had no way of being stopped from them achieving their first UK No.1 the following Sunday.

Cue Nicky Wire getting steamed out of his head drinking a bottle of red wine by the neck.

I was at that gig too. JJ72 switched their guitars to cheapo copies and smashed them at the end of the set.

The Manics must've gotten word of it because Nicky Wire laid waste to the stageful of real Gibsons and Fenders at the end.

I remember by knees being fucked for a week after because pogoing on the cobblestoned "venue" floor.
