Lucas & Mireles: As good as it gets?

to be fair to Lucas, playing under Hodgson seems to have given him a bit more freedom to play on the pitch. Another example of how Rafa Stifles the life out of half decent players with his negative tactics..

As good as it gets though?

Hardly..

Doesn't look like Hodgson is looking to bring in any midfielders in Jan, but to be fair Lucas has come a long way. Plays very well on the big games to and has been for a couple of years, notably against the mancs and chelsea. Mireles is coming into his own too...

I don't think its as good as it gets, but in the current situation its as good as LFC can afford. Under RH lucas has begun to look half decent espicelly since SG has been out injured as he knows he got to up he's game, he's overall play has been good and i think he's done himself alot of favours, under Rafa i was one of he's biggest critics. Mireles has been LFC's signing of the year has been a touch of class at midfield espicelly since he started playin in the middle, he's passing, tackling & positioning have been good the only thing has to improve is he's shooting. Its goin to be one tough decesion for RH to decide who if any of these 2 he'll move or drop when SG comes back in a few weeks or is there a place for all 3 which would be a added bonus.

The endless cycle will continue of shunting Gerrard around from midfield to rightside to second striker. Where next? Rightside?

Talk today that Ashley Young unhappy at Villa and Pool interested.
Lightning pace and a great addition if Liverpool can get him.
Lucas come on leaps and bounds though.
Fancy Liverpool to beat a deflated and demoralized Newcastle 5-0 Saturday.

He'll more than likely play Gerrard off Torres and drop N'Gog.

Kuyt on the right and Maxi/Cole on the left gives Liverpool a steady ship in the middle. Meirles is proving to be a good purchase by Hodgson.

Liverpool overall seem to be getting steadier under Hodgson, perhaps it has taken the players a period of time to adjust to the new way of playing.

Liverpool will need to strenghten their squad considerably over the next few windows if they are to return to the champions league/title challengers.

It will be interesting to see the players that NESV/Comolli/Hodgson look to bring in over the next few windows. Links to young exciting players like Hazard are encouraging. Links to old Fanni are not.

At the moment i'd play Maxi ahead of Cole, cole has so far been the biggest disappointment for me this season, maybe he's been carryin a injury or something but has'nt been up to scratch, Maxi on the other hand has played well in the past few games lloks to be settleing in alot better to RH's playing style.

Ashley Young would be a good addition for Liverpool. He'd provide pace that isnt that readily available in the squad
